Dogs 20 weeks and older stay on site, work daily with lead trainer Matt and his team, and practice good decisions inside a routine that runs from the first morning walk to lights out.
Consistency Your Household Can’t Easily Copy
Dogs learn by repetition, and repetition is where home training usually breaks down. One person lets the dog on the couch. Another says “off.” A third says “down,” which the dog also hears at bedtime. Progress pauses.
At the resort, we use the same cue and rewards the same response, dozens of times a day, in different corners of the building and outside on the grounds. Matt has spent close to twenty years reading dogs, and that experience shows up in the small stuff: catching the second before a dog makes the wrong choice and offering something better instead. Two weeks of that adds up fast for leash manners, attention, confidence, and impulse control.
Progress Without Rearranging Your Life
Training at home takes time you may not have. Work runs long, kids have practice, someone is traveling. Board and Train does the heavy lifting for you, so you are not squeezing a session into a Tuesday night.

Training That Doesn’t Stay in the Training Room
Plenty of dogs look flawless in a quiet room and fall apart the second a bike goes by. Premier‘s program is built to prevent that. Dogs get five walks a day, pool time, and supervised playgroups when they enjoy other dogs. Obedience work is folded into all of it, then tested further on real-world exposure field trips.
The facility helps here too. Premier’s indoor training space once housed a minor league baseball team, so there is room to work at a distance and add distraction on purpose. Sessions also run outdoors, so your dog isn’t learning in one room. It is learning that the cue counts everywhere.
Behavior Concerns: Get an Honest Look First
Board and Train handles more than sit and stay. Confidence building, high-drive dogs, and reactivity are regular work for us. Those cases start with an evaluation rather than an enrollment form, because the right plan depends on the individual dog.
Puppies under 20 weeks are not eligible yet. Friendly dogs 16 weeks and older can start in a six-week group class. A senior dog, or one that truly struggles away from home, may do better with private lessons, and Pensacola Pet Resort Premier will say so.
